Now I'm Tone Deaf!

So I go to preview this song, it starts, then about 3 seconds in, my dog's head explodes and I go tone deaf. Which means...

It's some black death hardcore extreme vicious crazy rocken booming jumping pumping blasting screaming exploding... metal. It's great metal, I just don't like metal so much. But what's important is that it's good. Right?

Rucklo responds:

Get the glow sticks!

This song is very professional. It changes pace and melody throughout the song which makes it sound professional. When I hear it I get reminded of Contra. Which I like. I think I'm going to lodge a vote for your "other" stance on music over your "metal" side. I like the "other" more. This song I would call: Trance.

This also reminds me of an old game I downloaded off the web called "MCLone". It was similar to the Worms series... exept with people. It was cool.

On another note; one that has nothing to do with the song or the review, I think it'd be cool if we did a compilation. Most the stuff I have on NG (4 of 5 songs) might not be too good, but I've been getting better. I plan on posting something new on NG soon. Keep maken the sweet music, I'll try to make some more crappy reviews.

Sophisticated

The beat is good, which is interesting because it's made of so many sounds but it sounds simple. I think you did a nice job choosing samples. It would make very good backround music, I think so because it's so quiet. It's just one carefully placed sample short of a ten, (I think maybe one more instrament would have made a difference.

Rucklo responds:

I worked a lil extra with the EQ to make it sound smoother, and the basedrum is carefully boosted with balanced treverb and eq, to make it heavy. I´m totally with u bout the last instrument... but it was difficult to add one, and when i tried, i just fucked up... according to me it´s trance-ish sounding, since there´s not that much going on, apart from beats n fx´s.
Really glad u liked the song though! Thanx a 1000 for the review dude!

Mission Successful

I like th song a lot. I've been trying to make DnB music and your song is a definately something for me to keep in mind. Your song would more likely fit into the category "sophisticated breakbeat" because standard DnB is usually More drums with heavy and low synth basslines, give or take depending on artist. You sythesised the synth well with the drums, though the melody changed often the drums kept up. I'll keep it in mind when I try to make music. Well done!

All 10's! All well Earned.

Link would be proud of your creation if he were real! The drums and the synth are syncronised perfectly. What programs did you use to make the song? I'me just getting started and I've been stuck with Fruity Loops 3, it's not bad, but tough. The drums were cut exelently, where did you get a hold of them? Do you have a home studio?

Gxp responds:

I use FL Studio 4.51 and more VSTs than I could possibly list here. The best solution for good drums is a good drum kit, or live loops that you've sliced into the individual hits, then rearrange. Drumslicing is a D'n'B must.
On a side note, stay away from anything under Ghinstell, below that it's all VERY old beginner junk.

I'm back! I'm ganna try to keep updating my music.

Sure, I'm game.
